Who We Are

Big hearts making a big difference

Working hand-in-hand, the generosity of the donors and the dedicated work of the Goodwin Living team members help the Foundation change the lives of all those we touch.

The Goodwin Living Foundation mission

Through the power of philanthropy, we seek and celebrate generosity to carry out the mission of Goodwin Living, to provide financial security to residents, to enable staff to thrive in their careers and to support innovation, thus enhancing the lives of older adults and those who care for them.

Our purpose

A foundation of purpose built by a community of generosity

Compassion, generosity and empathy have been at the heart of the Goodwin Living Foundation since it was established in 1989. Together, we change lives.

Uplifting our team

Through the generosity of our donors, the Goodwin Living Foundation is dedicated to empowering our team members to grow, thrive and serve with purpose. Our Team Member Support programs provide important opportunities for continuing education and career growth, reinforcing our belief that when we invest in those who care for others, we strengthen our entire community.

A promise to our residents

We also uphold a commitment to our residents: No one should ever have to leave their home due to financial hardship. Since 1967, our Resident Support Fund has ensured that residents who outlive their financial resources receive confidential assistance, preserving their dignity, security and sense of belonging.

When it matters the most

Through our Hospice Fund, we extend compassionate care to those facing life’s most difficult and trying moments. By removing financial obstacles to hospice services and offering alternative therapies beyond traditional care, we honor every individual’s journey with dignity, comfort and peace.

Solving the biggest challenges for those we serve

The Goodwin Living mission and the strategic plan guide the direction of all the Goodwin Living Foundation’s fundraising programs. This plan, approved by the Goodwin Living Board of Trustees, is the roadmap to fulfilling our organization’s vision. From our efforts to improve Brain Health to our Citizenship Application Fee Program to Loan Repayment for our team to workforce development, we’ve continued to find new ways to support, honor and uplift the lives of older adults and those who care for them.

Celebrating our collective generosity

This past year, through the collective generosity of so many individuals, corporations and foundations, we were able to build a solid foundation to empower, uplift, engage and strengthen the Goodwin Living community.

Meet our donors

Our residents

The majority of our donors have a connection to Goodwin Living, led by residents of our senior living campuses. They’ve chosen Goodwin Living for their next stage of life, and also have the heart and mind to give to our Foundation. We are truly fortunate to serve alongside them.

Our team members

Our incredible team members live our mission and put their whole hearts into caring for those we serve. Goodwin Living and the Goodwin Living Foundation could not function without them.

Family and friends

Additionally, we receive donations from family members and friends who appreciate the care that we provide and choose to give so others can receive the same quality of care. This generosity of spirit, compassion and gratitude consistently inspires us to find new ways to expand our reach and strive for excellence.

Community partners

Beyond those with a direct connection, we also receive gifts from outside parties, all of whom believe in Goodwin Living’s mission of supporting, honoring and uplifting the lives of older adults and those who care for them.

Our donors and their stories

We’re very grateful for the work and services we can provide to all those we serve. Our residents, members, patients and their loved ones share that sentiment. Here are just a few of our testimonials.

  • The View Alexandria icon

“Kindness, generosity and understanding towards each other reflects an encompassing worldview that reinforces all of our well-being. Here at The View Alexandria, residents and staff from all over this planet have needs and strengths to contribute and share. We are fortunate to be able to recognize what the staff give to us and share our own bounty to the benefit of all.”

  • Goodwin Living Campuses icon

“When I first moved here in 2018, I had only a basic understanding of the many benefits of being a Goodwin Living Resident. Now, I donate regularly to the Foundation because I am truly grateful for the quality of life here and for the faith-based principles that guide the decisions that are made to maintain and continually improve the entire organization.”

  • Goodwin Living Campuses icon

“I know my mother supported the Goodwin Living charitable efforts during the years she lived there. I definitely consider my own contributions a legacy in her memory and in honor of the many caring employees, both then and now, who help provide a loving and welcoming environment for all the residents.”

Looking for new ways to use the power of philanthropy to further our mission of supporting, honoring and uplifting the lives of older adults and those who care for them. We do that by providing security to residents, enabling staff to thrive in their careers, and supporting new methods, practices and programs that enhance the lives of our team and those we serve.
